This bacterium was selected for use because of its fast growth, susceptibility to commonly used antibiotics, and lack of ACC deaminase activity.


Source

This bacterium was isolated from from surface-sterilized switchgrass (Panicum virgatum) roots, collected at the Great Lakes Bioenergy Resource Center at Kellogg Biological Station.
