Design Notes

The sequence for the wild type protein contains an internal PSTI cut site which had to be removed in order to adhere to submission standards. This was achieved by replacing a guanine-cytosine base pair with an adenine-thymine base pair.

This enzyme was discovered in the genome of S. sanguinis SK36. Sequence is reported in Xu et al. Genome of the Opportunistic Pathogen Streptococcus sanguinis.
