This part was used as part of the Biofabricator subtilis Imperial iGEM 2008 project and was used to provide an antibotic selection marker in B.subtilis. The chloramphenicol acetyltransferase gene activity was characterised and the results are available on the CAT gene page; BBa_J31005.
