This Lactococcus Lactis carbohydrate receptor is the receptor for its natural phage P2. The Lactococcus Lactis bacteria plays a large role in dairy fermentations, although they are constantly attacked by bacteriophages. Thus, it becomes important to study the phage-host interactions to find the specific receptor that the phage P2 binds to. In Lactococcus Lactis, the cell wall polysaccharides acts as receptor sites for bacteriophages, although the 3D structure is not known, only a simple 2D model. We added the 3D model of the carbohydrate receptor on Lactococcus Lactis in this part.
