NA packaging sequence-3'

The 3’ part of the packaging sequence of Neuraminidase of WSN

Usage and Biology

The neuraminidase (NA) of influenza A viruses, a class II glycoprotein with the amino terminus inside the cell and the carboxyl terminus outside is one of two major glycoproteins on the virus surface. It can help the virus to get into cells through endocytosis. Deleting this stalk area can help reduce its efficiency of infection while adding more stalk area would enhance the ability of the virus to infect cells. NA packaging sequence is what regulates the amount of NA expressed on the surface of Influenza, and this is the 3’ part of the packaging signal.
