The RBS sequence, or ribosome binding site, is located several sequences upstream of the gene expression frame and is an important sequence for pre-translational recognition and binding of the ribosome. When the DNA fragment downstream of the promoter and upstream of the terminator is transcribed out of the mRNA, the ribosome recognizes and binds the RBS sequence on the mRNA and then scans down until it recognizes the start codon and begins translation.

Corynebacterium glutamicum strong RBS

This is a strong RBS in C.glutamicum that can be used to improve traslation efficiency. It is particularly useful in improving the yield of fermentation products in C.glutamicum(Shi F, et al., 2020).
