Applications of BBa_K227007

The puc promoter can be used as a constitutive active promoter in Rhodobacter sphaeroides under low oxygen tension. The WashU iGEM team[http://2009.igem.org/Team:Wash_U] is utilizing this feature in a puc promoter and LHII knockout strain of R. sphaeroides, DBCOmega, to express the membrane protein Cph8 (BBa_I15010[1]) for increased light-sensitive regulation of LHII antennae complexes(pucBA, part BBa_K227006[2].)

The puc promoter can be used to constitutively express proteins of choice in R. sphaeroides.
