Overview

Our HP project is dedicated to verifying the significance and practical application feasibility of Click Virus technology. Throughout the project's advancement, we have engaged in in-depth dialogues and collaborations with enterprises in the biotechnology field, academic experts, and participants of the iGEM competition. These exchanges have not only provided a comprehensive examination of the project from multiple perspectives but also ensured the feasibility of our solutions in laboratory environments and their advantages and value in future production and practical applications.

We actively participate in various conferences, exchanging ideas with students from different universities, ensuring that our project is innovative while also considering environmental responsibility. In response to the limitations of current targeted therapies, our engineered virus technology can achieve high targeting specificity, thereby significantly enhancing therapeutic effects. Additionally, by combining engineered viruses with fluorescent molecules, we can also implement fluorescence tracking, further improving the precision and monitoring capabilities of treatments.

Through the HP project, we hope to break traditional concepts, pave new ways for the application of synthetic biology, and make greater contributions to human health and scientific progress.

Why we participated

This year's conference theme is "SynBio Nexus," focusing on the interdisciplinary applications of synthetic biology, aiming to promote exchanges and cooperation among young researchers, educators, and practitioners. The conference attracted 124 teams from universities and high schools, including Tsinghua University and Peking University, to discuss how to solve global issues and promote industrial development through synthetic biology.

What we learned

We learned how to address the challenges we face, determine the focus of our research, and correct the research steps we have taken. The research steps and methodologies of other teams have significant enlightening and guiding significance for our learning and research in the field of synthetic biology.

iGBA

Why we participated

iGBA is an event co-initiated by iGEM teams from Southern University of Science and Technology, University of Macau, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and Beijing Normal University at Zhuhai, aiming to promote academic, research, and industrial exchanges in the field of synthetic biology in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. This forum provides a platform for participating university students to exchange ideas and progress in the iGEM competition face-to-face, discuss innovative and cutting-edge topics, and strengthen the connection between universities and enterprises to promote the development of the regional bio-industry.

What we learned

Through exchanges with other teams, we learned how to effectively plan and execute project management, collaboration, and resource optimization in an HP project. We gained new insights into the project from their perspectives, identified potential issues, and explored solutions. By engaging with cutting-edge biotechnology companies, we learned about the latest developments and trends in the field of synthetic biology, including emerging technologies and innovative applications.

Our Hunan University iGEM team leverages social platforms to showcase our research achievements and interact with the global iGEM community, understanding the power of information in the digital age.

How we did

We have created a diversified social platform matrix, including WeChat Official Account, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and X, among others. These platforms serve as windows to display our enthusiasm, spirit of cooperation, and laboratory achievements.

Our strategy goes beyond content publishing; we actively engage and gather feedback. We connect with other iGEM teams globally, such as FSU iGEM, fostering cross-border exchanges that enrich their perspectives and experience the collaborative spirit in synthetic biology.

Our team members responsible for operating the WeChat Official Account publish posts irregularly according to the project's progress, showcasing our team's demeanor through writing copy and creating images. For instance, we have showcased research activities held in conjunction with local high schools and the feedback received from teaching primary schools about the iGEM project. We have also displayed fun experiments conducted daily and the content of team members attending the iGBA event. At the same time, the WeChat Official Account has showcased our group photos and promotional videos for our project. Through the operation of the WeChat Official Account, more people have come to understand the project our team is working on, as well as iGEM and synthetic biology. We believe that what we are doing is beneficial to the development of biology and society.
