TapZ engineered membrane receptor
In order to detect the S.Aureus we take inspiration on the parasite project ( http://2010.igem.org/Team:Imperial_College_London ) but there was one problem there is no peptide detector in E.coli who was able to activate a promoter. One receptor, involved in chemotaxis, detects few di/tri peptides (Tap receptor). In order to activate a promoter in presence of that peptide we designed a hybrid Tap/EnvZ receptor (which we called TapZ). EnvZ is a receptor involved in osmotic pressure sensing. It phosphorylates ompR which activates the pompC promoter. We must use this part in a BW25113 ΔenvZ.
