On the left is the system including Cub connected with protein. Its color corresponds to that of the protein. On the right is the system which is added with Nub and UBP. Nub and Cub will then form a completion and be recognized by UBP. In this way, the terminal bond of ubiquitin is degraded and ubiquitin is released from the protein. Color of this system is white, which is the color of ubiquitin.
