Pre-Upgrade bugs (before 01 feb 2007)
- RS 18:31, 13 March 2006 (EST): In part BBa_I51000, the full scar does not appear between BBa_B0045 and BBa_B0046. Two bases at the end of the scar are deleted (AG). I think that there might be a software error because BBa_B0046 begins with an ATG though it is not a coding sequence so the AG should not be deleted.
- RS 17:20, 14 March 2006 (EST): I want to rename a part from pSB5AC4 to pSB5AC5. When I enter in the new part name, it doesn't save it.
- WingZero 20:14, 11 June 2006 (EDT): Projects page only contains the text "There are no" in bold. Probably should finish that sentence.
- This hides a larger bug. We have changed the way we select parts from student projects. - Randy
- Smelissali 14:53, 18 June 2006 (EDT): When I try to edit parts in the "Reporter" parts tables, I get an article page that says "There are no". I am also unable to edit--Smelissali 12:51, 1 August 2006 (EDT) the table information for primer parts. Also, if would be nice if under the "parts: hard information" pages, we could have a link that takes the user back to the appropriate parts table for editing.
- Randy 20:07, 18 June 2006 (EDT): The search functions do not work well. Mediawiki searches don't find all entries, Google finds the entire history, and 3 part searches only searches the old text fields in the database.
- Smelissali 17:19, 24 June 2006 (EDT): When I click on the "Systems" part types (both Measurement and Projects) on the Part Types page, I get either nothing or it takes me to the help page.
- WingZero 15:11, 25 June 2006 (EDT): Same as what I said in #4, but despite the reply, it doesn't seem to be fixed.
- Randy Measurement Systems goes to a page with a more elaborate description of measurement parts. This will happen to more part types as the summer goes along. I moved the table links to the top of the page so they are easy to find. The PoPS and RiPS section of the page probably belongs on a Measurement Philosophy page. The answer to #4 above is correct and the bug is not fixed.
- Jonas 09:17, 13 July 2006 (EDT): there is a confusing template in the "Experience" section of a part. I described the problem in more detail on confusing template bug.
- Pfking 11:14, 25 July 2006 (EDT): There seems to be a problem with the registry database after the last update. Whenever I try to edit a part, or create a new part, I get an internal server error page. I can still modify the sequences and features part of the database, as well as the access control, but not the main database info!
- Smelissali 14:41, 25 July 2006 (EDT): Thanks for the report! We've taken care of the database and checking out the source of the problem
- Pfking 15:50, 25 July 2006 (EDT): Alright, part creation works again! But, whether editing or creating parts, I'm not able to choose composite or intermediate types, it always reverts back to basic part. (Edit: Wups, as it turns out, the reason I was getting an error was that one of the basic parts I was trying to put into a composite had an empty sequence. Take note, you need to put in some bases in test parts for them to work properly! Pfking 17:21, 9 August 2006 (EDT))
- Smelissali 12:51, 1 August 2006 (EDT): We're currently experiencing complications with our server. We're working on solving this problem right now...apologies for the down time
- RS 11:02, 2 August 2006 (EDT): The "Get selected sequence" wasn't working on any page but the "Hard information" page when I was giving a presentation today. I am not sure if it was because of the lower resolution of the projector or what.
- RS 12:00, 2 November 2006 (EST): This is not really a bug. But I personally find the user review tables quite confusing. I would suggest templating this form.
Post-Upgrade (after 01 Feb 2007) bugs
- Kahaynes 13:57, 3 February 2007 (EST): When I try to add a new composite part or construction intermediate, the site takes me back to the login page, even after I've logged in
- Macowell 14:26, 15 February 2007 (EST): The Projects category on the Part Types page seems to be broken. It just displays: "There are no" and most of the usual mediawiki tabs like "edit" seem to be missing from the top of the page. NOTE: a similar error was reported earlier; see pre-upgrade entries 4. & 6.
- Scmohr 16:01, 15 February 2007 (EST): The "Sequence and Features" boxes all have the sequence ruler (and the displayed sequences) running out of the box on the right-hand side. This is very distracting and should be fixed.
- Scmohr 16:11, 15 February 2007 (EST): Also in the "Sequence and Features" boxes, the heading "Get selected sequence" is misplaced. It should be moved to one line above its present position.
- Randy This bug has been fixed.
- RS 17:27, 26 February 2007 (EST): pSB4C5 is being generated as a composite part with scars even though it has a note saying that it is a composite part without scars. I think this is because I temporarily converted it to a basic part. (The issue is that this part was constructed via a combination of direct synthesis and BioBricks assembly so it is a huge pain to enter it into the Registry.) This shouldn't be this hard.
- RS 18:12, 26 February 2007 (EST): Why don't the long descriptions show up anymore when constructing a new part?
- RS 18:55, 27 April 2007 (EDT): Barcodes do not show up in basic parts ... only composite parts. Is this intentional. It is very confusing and I don't see a reason for this.
- Anmartens 10:52, 27 May 2007 (EDT): There is a duplicate entry in the registry kit for part BBa_J31002. We found in the lab that well 16J, plate 3, is erroneous and contains no part.
- Wideloache 11:54, 27 May 2007 (EDT): When I set a part's DNA Status to "Length OK," the part appears as "Available" on the Team Parts page. Should a part whose length has been confirmed but has not yet been sent to the repository be listed under some other DNA Status?
- Wideloache 11:61, 27 May 2007 (EDT): When I add a new part, the "Next Available Part" prompt is outside of our team's part range. Initially, we didn't realize the problem, and the registry allowed us to add new parts corresponding with the incorrect numbers given in the prompt. Now, the prompt gives a number for a part that we already created and is outside of our team's part range. This bug caused us to realize that we had previously been entering numbers outside of our part range, and we have now begun to enter part numbers that are in our team's range. The prompts continue to be incorrect, however.
- Randy This bug has been fixed. Only proper part names are provided and allowed. If your team has used a part outside their range, let us know what name you would prefer and we will help you fix it.
