Design Notes
The HivC zinc finger sequence (Part: BBa_K165006) (with a previously added linker sequence) was ligated into an existing BioBrick vector containing the Elowitz RBS site (Part:BBa_B0034). The vioD gene was obtained by PCR from an existing BioBrick of violacein operon (Part BBa_K274002) and ligated as a back insert into the RBS_zinc-finger construct.

The vioD sequence was obtained by PCR from an existing part, which was designed by the Cambridge 2009 iGEM team (Part:BBa_K274002). The HivC zinc finger was also obtained from the Registry of parts (Part:BBa_K165006).
