AlkB2
Alkane monooxygenase (AlkB), a membrane-spanning metalloenzyme, converts straight chain alkanes to alcohols in the first step of the microbially-mediated degradation of alkanes, thereby playing a critical role in the global cycling of carbon and the bioremediation of oil.
Usage and Biology
AlkB2 is from the system AlkB2-Rd45-AdhA, which is designed to accelerate the degradation rate by improving the absorbing and hydroxylation of PE monomer.
Fig.1 The map of the plasmid pAB1-AlkB2-Rd45-AdhA.
Fig.2 The PCR result of AlkB-Rd45-AdhA fragment. The band was identycal to the expected length of 3033bp.
And we have conducted SDS-page of pAB1-AlkB2-Rd45-AdhA, which is expected to express a large fusion protein AlkB2-Rd45-AdhA with a molecular weight of 94.59kDa. In the figure, it can be seen that there were an extra bands in the experimental group than in the control group at a position slightly less than 100kDa, suggesting that AlkB2-Rd45-AdhA protein was successfully expressed.
Fig.3 SDS-PAGE result of AlkB2-Rd45-AdhA.
Since we set AlkB2, Rd45 and AdhA as a whole, the overall functions need moving to the part BBa_K5291033.
