AgrB

AgrB is a transmembrane protein that plays a crucial role in the quorum-sensing system of Staphylococcus aureus. It is involved in the synthesis and processing of autoinducing peptides (AIPs), molecules that regulate bacterial communication (Zhang et al., 2004). AgrB works in conjunction with other proteins, such as AgrD (the precursor peptide of AIP) and AgrC (the receptor), to activate the agr quorum-sensing system.
