Trigger 2 for toehold AND gate
This miRNA acts as one of the two trigger RNAs. It will anneal with the other miRNA due to partial complementarity. They form a structure together which will trigger the AND gate toehold switch. This triggering results in the expression of the output gene. The absence of this miRNA leads to no expression of the output gene.
Usage and Biology
This part is used in in vitro experiments, to test the functionality of the toehold AND gate. This gate gets activated by two trigger RNA, of which this one is the second, and BBa_5106008 is the first. In vitro experiments were performed on the composite part BBa_K5106010, where toehold switch is under a T7 promoter and terminator, regulating LacZ. For more information on these parts, please take a look at miRADAR (WangeningenUR 2024)
