pCadA cadmium sensing chromoprotein reporter device
This part was used to create a cadmium-sensing biosensor for our project. Our goal is to develop heavy metal biosensors that don't require special techniques or expensive equipment, so we used chromoproteins for their visible colors.
We designed this part and ordered it from IDT gBlock. However, we consistently failed to obtain successful transformants for unknown reasons. Despite using the same assembly process as other constructs, which succeeded, this one did not. The cause remains unclear.
