ALOXE3

Usage and Biology

ALOXE3 encodes for the enzyme eLOX3, and is found on chromosome 17 in humans. It has its function in the skin, where eLOX3 is involved in the hydroperoxide becoming a signaling molecule [1].

The gene codes for one of the enzymes used for iGEM24_Linkoping substitution therapy for Ichthyosis.
