Description
Venus is a Yellow Fluorescent Protein that was developped to overcome limitations to the use of Green Fluorescent Protein produced by Aequorea victoria. Therefore, Venus can be used as a reporter system. Here, Venus was used as a transcriptional reporter, to control the transcriptional efficiency of the yeast promoter pGAP (Part:BBa_K431009). The excitation wavelength is 516nm and the emission wavelength is 530nm.
Construction
The Venus used was synthetized based on a sequence from a yeast toolkit so the sequence is optimized for expression in Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
