[design], we were unable to successfully clone this part into a part plasmid. The closest we came to achieving such a success was a plasmid that contained one correct copy of luxR and one heavily mutated copy. However, despite three attempts at sequencing, the part was never entirely correct. Because we have 6 other inducible promoter-regulator systems that have cloned into part plasmids successfully, we have not attempted any further cloning of luxR at this time.
