Pyrroloquinoline Quinone Glucose Dehydrogenase

A.calcoaceticus derived PQQGDH is a dimeric enzyme which is recombinantly produced using E. coli. It is responsible for oxidizing glucose into glucono-δ-lactone which is then hydrolyzed into gluconic acid. In PQQGDH holo form, it possesses the PQQ cofactor that gives the protein its electron-carrying abilities. This enzyme has been most widely used for glucose-sensing applications. In our project, we present a new application of this enzyme in pyocyanin sensing for P. aeruginosa detection.
