RcsB+TT

Colanic acid producing gene with double terminator

RcsB (BBa_K200000) coupled to the double terminator (BBa_B0015).

RcsB overexpression turn on the RCS phosphorelay system. This results in the modulation of ~5% of the E.coli genome. One of the most notable effects of this is the production of the exopolysaccharide colanic acid.

The double terminator is the most commonly used terminator and is a combination of parts (BBa_B0010) and (BBa_B0012).

The double terminator allows the RcsB gene to be incorporated into a closed transcriptional unit.
