This is an NO part containing a silica-binding tag and a glycine-serine linker. The silica-binding tag allows for the expressed level 1 construct to bind to silica, while the glycine-serine linker introduces a short unstructured domain, minimising the risk of the silica tag interfering with the activity of other parts. The 2022 Edinburgh-UHAS iGEM team used this part to bind metallothioneins to silica beads. It does not have TTCG at the end to complete the sequence, as this is regenerated by the O part 3' fusion site in JUMP assembly. Add TTCG at the end to use as a normal part.

Si-tag :: Gly-Ser Linker This part is not compatible with BioBrick RFC10 assembly but is compatible with the iGEM Type IIS Part standard which is also accepted by iGEM.
