Usage & biology

TU-Eindhoven 2022 used this composite part as an output of the Generalized Extracellular Molecule Sensor (GEMS) system that is developed by Scheller et al., 2018.1 Upon activation of the GEMS receptor, STAT-induced SEAP will be expressed and secreted via the JAK/STAT signaling pathway. In the project of TU-Eindhoven 2022, SEAP was used as a genetic reporter protein to investigate the activation of the GEMS receptor (BBa_K4160008, BBa_K4160009, BBa_K4160010, BBa_K4160012, and BBa_K4160013). STAT-induced SEAP was expressed in a pLS13 plasmid.

Characterization

Characterization of STAT-induced SEAP expression by the GEMS system can be found on the BBa_K4160008 page.
