PncA

PncA encodes a nicotinamidase that is active in the cyclical salvage pathway for production of NAD+ from nicotinamide.Bacteria rescue NAMPTi-induced toxicity through nicotinamidase PncA.Study reports that bacteria contribute to mammalian host NAD biosynthesis through a microbial nicotinamidase.
