Modified Constitutive Promoter (J23101)

J23101* is part of the J23, Anderson constitutive promoter family, it is the modified version J23101 Anderson promoter (BBa_J23101). It is weaker than the original promoter.

Usage and Biology

Figure 1: The nucleotide in the red frame is missing one from J23101*.

This promoter was used to regulate BLADE protein transcription in ELTE 2022 group’s project. It was important that this promoter by the literature is weaker than J23101 Anderson promoter because in this case, the production of the protein means less metabolic stress for the bacteria. This promoter is shorter than the J23101. The nucleotide with the red frame is missing from it. This change leads to a weaker promoter.
