Vitis vinifera Resveratrol O-Methyltransferase Mutant (VvROMT S29P)

The Vitis vinifera resveratrol o-methyltransferase (VvROMT) is an enzyme that catalyses the dimethylation of resveratrol to form pterostilbene.

ROMT is a key enzyme used for the production of pinostilbene or pterostilbene. This version of the enzyme is a mutant with amino acid change S29P. This mutations has been shown to increase catalytic efficiency from 128 (wild-type) to 158 μmol/h/g (Yan et al., 2021).

The ORF of this compound was obtained from NCBI GenBank code: FM178870.1. This sequence was then codon optimized for E. coli K12, mutated at the desired positions, and two stop codons (TAATAA) were added to terminate translation.
