DpnII Composite

DpnII is a dam sensitive restriction enzyme.
The recognition sequence of this restriction enzyme is GATC and is a 4 base cutter, leaving a 4 base overhang.


The cutting site is as shown:
NGATCN -> N / GATCN
NCTAGN -> NCTAG / N


As part of the Imperial 2009 iGEM E.ncapsulator project, DpnII was used to cut up the genetic material within the cell, completing the cell death module.
