However, the characterization data (Figure 1) yielded insignificant levels of fluorescence, thus leading us to conclude that the promoter is not sensitive enough to extracellular phosphate levels.

However, the characterization data (Figure 1) yielded insignificant levels of fluorescence, thus leading us to conclude that the promoter is not sensitive enough to extracellular phosphate levels.
