**EDITING IN PROGRESS**
The following is a list of plasmid backbones that we have included as part of the 2009 distribution kit, most of which have P1010 and J04450. However, if you are having trouble with these, we have also included alternate sources for the plasmids.
- YES - The plasmid is available and correct
- YES[?] - The plasmid is available and correct, with the exception of one inconsistency in the QC results which should not be an issue
- NO - The plasmid is either unavailable or we have found that it carries an error

- If you decide to use an alternate location for the plasmid, keep in mind that after transforming and miniprepping you should use PCR to [http://openwetware.org/wiki/Making_construction_plasmid make the construction plasmid]. This step will produce PCR product containing the plasmid backbone with no insert and no uncut, circular plasmid, and can then be cut with the restriction enzymes for use.
We will continue to update this page with more information and details, including more comprehensive quality control information and alternate locations.
