The ytvA cassette is designed to produce the protein YtvA, which is a light-activated protein. The gene of interest (<partinfo>BBa_K3889026</partinfo>) is placed downstream to the constitutive promoter of Bacillus subtilis P43 (<partinfo>BBa_K143013</partinfo>) and the ribosome binding site of Bacillus subtilis (<partinfo>BBa_K1351031</partinfo>). ytvA is placed upstream to the porcine teschovirus-1 P2A Peptide Linker (<partinfo>BBa_K3889069</partinfo>) and mCherry (<partinfo>BBa_J06504</partinfo>). The mCherry gene has been placed to act as a reporter for the functioning of the cassette. This will give continuous red fluorescence which can be measured with the help of a plate reader. At the end of this cassette, a double terminator (<partinfo>BBa_B0015</partinfo>) has been put to terminate the transcription.

Bacillus subtilis YtvA expression cassette
