UASCIT-pTEF

UASCIT-pTEF is a synthetic hybrid promoter consisting of the upstream activation sequence(UAS), which is from the mitochondrial citrate synthase gene cit2, and the core promoter tef2. The tandem UAS elements of hybrid promoter could serve as synthetic transcriptional amplifiers to control expression levels.

When assembled with GFP BBa_K3112009, and BBa_K3384311 in pRS426, this construct expressed GFP. Then the activity of the bybrid promoter can be quantitatively measured through flow cytometer. As is shown in Fig. 1, the UASTEF-pTEF promoter strength was expanded beyond the pTEF by 1.2-fold.
