5CON1(H)_NS1(mod)-up (PCC 11801)

This part is an homology 5’ connector harboring the up homology arm for the homologous recombination within the Neutral Site Nº 1 of PCC11801.

Within the Marburg Collection design, connectors are found in the upstream (5’) and downstream (3’) regions of the level 1 assemblies, flanking the transcriptional unit. This allows the further assembly of multiple transcriptional units into a level 2 genetic construct using level 1 parts flanked by different connectors. To know more about, read the design principles of Marburg Collection. (Referencia a Marburg).

Among other functions, connectors can also be used to include homology regions for integrative recombination in the chassis genome. This way 5’ Connector / 3’ Connector parts can harbor the up / down homology arm required for double homologous recombination.

The part has been designed in accordance with the Marburg Collection guidelines. 5’ / 3’ Connectors correspond with the parts found Upstream / Downstream of the level 1 assembled transcriptional unit.
