This composite part is composed by the plsr promoter, a UTR sequence and the reporter gene that codes for E7 a lysis gene. The purpose of this composite part is to induce the expression of the E7 as a function of the optical density of the bacteria and more precisely due to the accumulation of the autoinducer-2 (AI-2), a molecule of the E.coli sensing quorum. So by expressing this protein we wish to trigger lysis and make it dependent on the density of the population of bacteria able to use AI-2
