MtrB under Lux promoter

Pconst(BBa_J23100) - RBS(BBa_B0034) - LuxR(BBa_C0062) - DT(BBa_B0015) - Plux(BBa_R0062) - RBS(BBa_B0034) - mtrb(BBa_K3146001) - DT(BBa_B0015)

Usage and Biology

This is an intermediate part of the oscillatory system which can be used to build our final modular biosensor BBa_K3440021. LuxR which is originally from Vibrio Fischeri, is constitutively expressed under the J23100 promoter. In the presence of 3OC6-HSL (a lactone produced by LuxI from Vibrio Fischeri), the LuxR:3OC6-HSL complex can activate Plux, which controls production of MtrB. This oscillatory part will be present in Shewanella oneidensis MR-1 mtrb knockout.
