Inducible Ptac promoter (TypeIIS adapted)

Ptac, trp and lac regulated promoter (Part:BBa_K864400), adapted to MoClo standard by our team. It was designed to control Streptavidin-CBDs expression via IPTG induction.

Description

Promotor Ptac is a combination of the different promoters from the lac and tpr operons. The advantages of this promoter include its high efficiency (11 times more than the lac one and 3 times more than the tpr one) and the fine control of the expression it allows (it can be repressed by lac repressor and derepressed with isopropyl-beta-D-thiogalactoside).

Characterization

Characterization of this part was planned to be conducted by building three transcriptional units (BBa_K3122017, BBa_K3122018, No part name specified with partinfo tag.) expressing different recombinant proteins. Unfortunately, no results were obtained.
