This part was meant to produce GFP proportionally to the amount of UV exposure. It was supposed to be a UV DNA damage sensor. However, it did not work as we anticipated. As our results in Figure 1 show, there was no significant difference in fluorescence level when the amount of UV changed.

LexA1 GFP composite part

This part includes having a LexA 1 operator upstream of GFP. This part was created with the intention of improving part BBa_K079050. For more information about our experience using this part and how the LexA 1 operator compares to the LexA 2 operator, please view the experience page and the page for part BBa_K079050.

This part was meant to produce GFP proportionally to the amount of UV exposure. It was supposed to be a UV DNA damage sensor. However, it did not work as we anticipated. As our results in Figure 1 show, there was no significant difference in fluorescence level when the amount of UV changed. Figure 2 shows the difference in GFP flurescence for part BBa_K079050 and part BBa_K3269004.
