Protocatechuate decarboxylase (aroY) from Klebsiella pneumonia subsp.
Protocatechuate decarboxylase (aroY gene) converted the protocatechuic acid into catechol. The enzyme was modified with a signal peptide at its N-terminal to be introduced into bacterial microcompatments (BMCs) This signal peptide corresponds to the first 19 amino acids of the psuP enzyme together with a flexible linker G42 (Wagner, H. J et. al 2017) This is a hexameric enzyme
Wild type enzyme information:
E. C. 4.1.1.63
