This part contains the sequence for the PhaB gene, the second gene involved in the synthesis of polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB). This gene encodes for the protein Acetoacetyl-CoA reductase, which catalyzes the reduction of acetoacetyl-CoA to (R)-3-hydroxybutyryl-CoA.1
