Description

This part contains the ribosomal binding site B0034 and PlmJ which is a ribozyme.

Upon translation of the ribozyme into RNA, it cleaves itself off, removing any transcript from the mRNA upstream of the ribosomal binding site (RBS).

This leads to a more stable expression independent of the cellular context (See iGEM William and Mary 2016) and can be used for better cross comparison of results over species border or the construction of more robust, species independent functional devices.
