This part represents a small fragment of the virus' genome. It is a small DNA fragment(280 bp), that does not encode for any functional protein or toxin. It's a small part of a sequence that encodes for a DNA polymerase of the virus and in alternative reading frames it encodes for envelope proteins of the virus, or for a specific surface antigen. | This part represents a small fragment of the virus' genome. Hepatitis B Virus fragment (281-560bp)
Hepatitis B is a DNA virus that attacks the liver and can cause both acute and chronic disease.
Usage and Biology
This part serves as a DNA template for amplification reactions (biomarker). In our project, we successfuly amplified a specific region of the part using PCR and Recombinase Polymerase Amplification (RPA).
