pTef1e: wild-type without the BsaI site and shorter
This part is a version of the Yarrowia lipolytica pTef1 promoter, derived from the Addgene plasmid #120738.
It is an improvement of BBa_K2117000 as it is shorter and does not have the BsaI site which makes this part compatible with the iGEM Type IIS RFC[1000] standard.
Usage and Biology
TEF is an isolated promoteur with highly expressed genes in yarrowia lipolytica and present in only on copy in his genome. TEF encode for translation elongation factor-1 α [1]and is also widely used to drive constitutive gene expression in Y. lipolytica.[2]
