PfnrS PfnrS is an anaerobic-inducible promoter. The PfnrS promoter was inactive in the presence of oxygen and was activated under anaerobic or microaerobic conditions by the anoxic-sensing transcriptional activator FNR. This regulator has an important role in the anaerobic metabolism of E. coli in vivo.
