Influenza A hemagglutinin with poly linker

Usage and Biology

Hemagglutinin is a protein on the flu surface that plays a vital role in the virus’ capacity to infect cells, undergoing a conformational change when the virus binds to a host cell and becomes endocytosed. Influenza A viruses are divided into subtypes based on hemagglutinin (H) into 8 different hemagglutinin subtypes and can be used in immunological experiments as the target antigen. This part contains the original sequence of Influenza A virus (A/WSN/1933 TS61(H1N1)) obtained from NCBI(CY010788.1) and a polylinker(Fig.1). It is originally from a previous partBBa_K1955000which differs in seven base pairs with the sequence from NCBI(CY010788.1). Hemagglutinin is one of the transmembrane proteins that are considered difficult to express as soluble form in E.coli. Thus this part has deleted its transmembrane domain analyzed by [http://www.cbs.dtu.dk/services/TMHMM/ TMHMM Server v. 2.0](530-565, 36 codons) and the four extended hydrophobic amino acids in front of the domain.

Characterization

This part is part of the composite part: BBa_K2951008 and further characterized.
