Superfolder Green Fluorescence Protein

Profile

Name sfGFP (superfoler green fluorescent protein)
Base pairs 714
Molecular weight 26.8 kDa
Origin Aequorea victoria
Properties very fast maturing variant of GFP

Usage and Biology

GFP is a fluorescent protein originally isolated from the jellyfish Aequorea victoria. sfGFP is a variant of this protein. It has a short maturing time of 13.6 min instead of 36.1 min of the original protein variant, has an extinction maximum at 485 nm and an emission maximum at 510 nm [1] [2] [3] .
