+ | Porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV2) is one of the single-stranded DNA viruses. The PCV2 capsid protein (Cap) is the sole viral structural protein. Previous sequence analysis has revealed that the N terminus of the PCV2 Cap contains a nuclear localization signal (NLS) enriched in positively charged residues. This NLS signal can function as a cell-penetrating peptide (CPP) carrying macromolecules into cells, similar to the classical CPP derived from HIV type 1 transactivator of transcription protein (HIV TAT). We used the first 17 residues of the NLS (NLS-A) with amino acid sequence of "MTYTRRRFRRRRHRPRS" as a cell-penetrating peptide. | ||

Characterization
This part(BBa_K3090000) was fused to the N-terminus of scFv(P5) (part number BBa_K3090001) to design a cell-penetrating antibody fragment (part BBa_K3090002). The sequence of the designed protein is as follows.
