Outer membrane protease T

The outer membrane protease T is a housekeeping protease. It degrades peptides in the close environment of the bacteria.

OmpT can be used to facilitate protein export by clevage of the OmpTSite bound to a target protein. It is a potential probe for mass spectrometry.
