p_Las is the promoter from the Quorum sensing system from Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The quorum sensing system is known to interfere with gene expression in a population dependent manner. This promoter sequence will be activated upon induction with a quorum sensing molecule, sythetise by another component of the quorum sensing system (LasI) and by co activation by the regulator protein LuxR.
