The problem with rClone Red v1 [J119384] was that the RBS we used was complementary to an "anti-RBS" located in RFP.

To fix this problem, we mutated three codons so that they encoded the same 3 amino acids, but the resulting mRNA would not form the hairpin loop because we had disrupted the anti-RBS.
