miR2118l target sequence

It is the target sequence of miR2118l, a modularized DNA part from a set of chemically synthetic oligo DNA library.

Usage and Biology

MiRNA locker assembled by using this modularized DNA part was able to bind miR2118l in an Ago2 dependent manner, that is, knockdown of miR2118l was achieved by transfecting cells with miRNA locker.

MiR2118l is a member of miR2118 family which was identified by searching rice RNA libraries for RNAs that could potentially target the sense or antisense sequence of the 22-nt motif and direct phasing of the 21-mer phased inflorescence small RNAs. This family target the 22-nt motif which was mapped to only two regions of the genome, a large 20-kb region on chromosome (chr4: 21455568:21474171) and a short 3-kb region on chromosome 11(chr11:7802932:7806229).And they may function in early reproductive development in rice and other monocots.1
