this part is an improvement upon BBA_K1791003 from the Lethbridge iGEM 2015 submission. It contains a N terminal His tag on a modified MS2 coat protein sequence. The sequence has been codon optimized for Ecoli and modified via a V29I mutation and a 13 aa deletion with a Gly/Ala insertion. These mutations prevent capsid formation as well as dimerization of MS2 for more efficient yields during purification.
